Overview:

Percona, a company with a 16-year legacy, was burdened with a website that showed its age. With over 7000 pages of content anchored to Drupal 7—a platform nearing its end of life—the website was in desperate need of modernization. And this is one of the big tasks that I was hired to manage.

Challenge:

We faced a very tight timeline, aiming to roll out the rebrand in January. Our existing website was slow, non-responsive, and visually dated. Not only did we need to transfer a colossal amount of content, but we also needed a new structure to coherently present our diverse product offerings. And internally we were a team of 3 people.

Solution:

Enter Planet 360—a collaboration that helped us reimagine our online presence. Our marketing team embarked on a substantial content pruning exercise while liaising with key stakeholders from the Community, Documentation, Product, and Events departments to curate content for their respective sections. Our Business Services Team played a pivotal role in site launch, and post-launch, we joined forces with Upbound to boost our SEO metrics.

Outcome:

The outcome is a sleek, modern website that not only aligns with today’s digital standards but is also built on WordPress, enabling more stakeholders to directly manage and update their content. This strategic move has dramatically reduced content update bottlenecks, propelling Percona's digital efficiency to new heights.
